The Hub

“The Hub” at St. Philip’s aims to be a welcoming community, where anyone available in the day can make and develop friendships. We currently meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, from 11am to 3pm. Visitors may join us for as much or as little of the day as they choose.

Our informal drop-in cafe, serving light refreshments, opens at 11 a.m. A set two-course lunch (£2.50) is served at 12.30pm, followed by a "Thought For The Day". An activity takes place from 1:30pm. These range from physical activities (e.g. walks, line dancing) to sedentary ones (e.g.quizzes, card-making). We finish at 3pm.

We also organise outings, and hope to encourage people to meet up between sessions for trips to theatre or cinema, or to try other activities together. This term the programme of events is..

7th March : 999 Drama - a talk by Adrienne Jemmett.

21st March : Tea Dance - with live band "Nostalgia".

4th April : Easter Craft.

18th April : "The Old Bag In The Attic" - a talk by Ashleigh Adams.

Please phone Alison on 01902 895635 for further details.

How can we make a difference?

Are you available on Wednesdays during the day to come and join us at The Hub?

Can you tell people who may be interested in The Hub, and invite them along?

Can you commit to help in the kitchen once a month with food preparation (training will be provided), or serving food and drinks, clearing tables and washing up?

Do you have ideas for activities and outings? Better still, are you willing and able to organise and lead an activity?

Can you offer lifts to those without transport?

If the answer to any of these questions is “Yes”, then The Hub needs YOU! See you there!
