Marriage preparation

This course lasts for 5 sessions which we hold weekly and is run by Mark & Viv Skidmore using a course from Alpha Publications called The Marriage Preparation Course.

All the couples who have booked their forthcoming wedding at St. Philip's are invited to take part. It is currently only run for couples getting married in our parish.

We provide refreshments and our super church lounge to meet in. The emphasis is very much on a relaxed session where we share stories and examples from our marriage and encourage the couples to think more deeply about the commitment they are about to make to each other.

Session booklets and a DVD provide the material we base the sessions upon.

There is no charge and we give the couples a book at the end of it as a gift. This year the couples got on really well so we all went out for a meal at the end of it!

If you believe that marriage is a gift of God that needs to be nurtured and protected and is an issue that is worth exploring with couples as they prepare to marry, then please come and talk to us.
